"Caring for Family Treasures" was a FREE traveling exhibit that provides a public service to help individuals learn how to take care of their family heirlooms. A parallel goal of the exhibit is to provide an opportunity for libraries and museums across the state to raise public awareness of the collection care needs of organizations.
The colorful exhibit consisted of 12 sections, including specific information on caring for glass and ceramics, photographs, recordings, organic materials such as baskets, feathers, and leather, and other items. The information is on banner stands that are easily transportable and can be arranged in a variety of ways, depending on the needs of the host organization.
Host sites received a marketing kit and access to public programs to engage the public.
